Blandin emigrated from Trinidad and Tobago as a preteen. During the 2020 elections, Blandin guided about 170 federal and state campaigns through myriad issues, including fundraising, grassroots engagement, and coalition building.
A veteran of Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential run, Blandin is the youngest member of and the only person of color on the Democratic Data Exchange's board of directors. She analyzes left-leaning voters alongside the Bill Clinton and Barack Obama administration alumnus John Podesta, former Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean, and the Democratic megadonor Donald Sussman.
Blandin said her background kept her focused on personal priorities including voting rights, reproductive justice, and criminal-justice reform.
"As an immigrant Black woman, I often don't have a choice but to be interested and involved politically, particularly on issues that impact me and my community," she told Insider.
Next up: actualizing Swing Left's 10-year plan to maintain and expand Democratic control across the country "starting with keeping Virginia blue in 2021," she said. The off-year election for governor is already heating up.
